Migrationlab Co-design Workshop
SKILL UP! - skills empowerment of refugees
Bari // June 20-21, 2017
We are so excited to be part of a new European collaboration! Following the 2nd CitizensLab Network Meeting in Brussels in March 2017, four CitizensLab members Stephen Ogbonna, Mama Africa; Margherita Mugnai, Sociolab Ricerca Sociale; Laura M. Pana, Migrationlab and Andrea Rossi, Cherimus Sardegna decided to prototype a new model of co-working space and skills mapping platform in Bari, Italy, based on the active collaboration between local and European innovators and new European residents, migrants, asylum seekers and refugees.
This is how SKILL UP was born and for the next five months we intensely worked together each of us based in a different European city, from The Hague to Montpellier via Istanbul all the way to Bari to set up our first step in this process: a 2-day prototype co-design workshop in Bari, on June 20 and 21, 2017.
The full story of our collaborative work is now available here.
The project is possible thanks to the CitizensLab European Network Platform, which Migrationlab joined earlier this year, and it received support from the Municipality of Bari. This is an ongoing project and you can follow our news at SKILL UP dedicated Facebook Page and Migrationlab.
We would like to thank everyone for a wonderful exchange and for all the love and inspiration!
